Mill Automation System w/ZPS

VersaBuilt Mill Automation System with ZPS – Overview The VersaBuilt Mill Automation System with ZPS combines VersaBuilt’s proven robotic CNC tending platform with a Zero-Point System (ZPS) for rapid, repeatable part and fixture changeovers. It’s designed for high-mix, low-volume production where flexibility and uptime are equally important. How It Works ZPS-Equipped Fixture Plates Each part or job runs on a dedicated fixture plate fitted with zero-point locating studs. These plates can be swapped in and out of the CNC mill in seconds with no need for manual alignment, indicating, or re-zeroing. Automated Pallet Exchange The robot automatically loads and unloads ZPS fixture plates between the mill and the VersaBuilt system’s infeed storage. The changeover is mechanical, fast, and repeatable—typically under one minute. Precision Locking and Positioning Once the ZPS pallet is seated, the system locks it into place with high clamping force and micron-level repeatability, ensuring consistent machining accuracy across different jobs and setups. CNC Communication and Workflow Control The system interfaces directly with the CNC control, managing door operations, cycle start, and job queues through VersaBuilt’s Machine Tending Software—so operators can load jobs and let the system run unattended.
