YesThere are two main components that make up this solution - the Adjustable Force Device (AFD) and the motor (Brushless DC Servo). The AFD's main purpose is to apply constant force - you can think of this tool as a precise muscle for the robot. These tools feature 20mm of linear stroke that provides constant force throughout to help make programming easier and to account for variatious in the part and fixturing. We offer two types of AFD products - Active and Passive. An active tool automatically adjusts the supply pressure to maintain a constant force, whereas a passive tool requires the user to adjust the pressure manually or through an electronically controlled regulator. As a result, active tools are great for complex geometries where orientation changes are frequent, and passive tools excel with flat and prismatic parts.
To spin the abrasive media, we offer a line of high-performance brushless DC servo motor products. These tools are the industrial version of a right angle grinder. They feature robust bearings for highspeed operation, continuous torque across the entire RPM range, and liquid cooling is available for the most demanding applications. For continuous operation, a tool change option can be added to quickly and efficiently change out tool holders automatically with no external interaction. So, while this package is geared toward grinding, the tool change functionality allows for abrasive media changes to handle other finishing processes.
PushCorp's Grind X Solution is best paired with the larger CRX-25iA and CRX-30iA. These are the highest payload and rigidity robots of the CRX family, which help to withstand the forces involved with material removal application. However, some less demanding processes are suitable for lower-payload CRX models.
